Kevin Nelson, a wildlife artist and
nature artist, grew up
exploring what was then the woods and country
side near his home in Burnsville, Minnesota.
With a rich tradition of hunting and fishing
with his dad and brothers, Kevin's love for the
outdoors carried over to his art work. Selling
most of his earlier originals, the self taught
artist has always had a strong interest in
wildlife with ducks and pheasants being his
favorite subjects.
Kevin's eye for detail and composition led him to the competitive field of
habitat stamp contests. After winning the Minnesota Pheasant Habitat stamp, he turned
his attention to ducks. Kevin has entered the Federal Duck stamp contest five times
placing in the top ten twice with fifth place being his highest finish. Kevin's
Minnesota duck stamp entries have also finished high on the list with three consecutive second place
